Fancy

Hey everyone!

I hope you are all well!  On Saturday night i went to the last student event at my church, it was a formal with an Oscars theme and i thought i'd share what i wore as it's a change from my usual OOTD's!  I left getting an outfit til the day before because EXAMS ARE CONSUMING MY LIFE but i knew i wanted to try and play around with the theme, switching it up from a floor length dress. I didn't manage to get any photos on the night so i recreated the look today after my first exam (one to go, i'm so excited!)

I was thinking of something along the lines of a long feminine trouser suit so i was really happy when i found this smart dungaree/jumpsuit in River Island. I paired it with a Topshop crop with mesh detailing, my Office platform wedges (i talked about them in 'Basketball') and my new favourite clutch i found in H&M for £3.

Dunagrees - River Island
Crop Top - Topshop

Metallic Clutch - H&M (Sale)
Spike Cuff - H&M (Sale)
Mini Casio

That's about it for the outfit! I'm off to clean something (I love to clean) and probably watch a film or get up to some silliness with my homies. Thanks for reading!

street fighter

Sup everyone!

How are you all?! Thought i'd take a break from revising to do a little casual OOTD.  I didn't get up to much just had a romantic date with the library and Management Finance.  Layered up a random tee I got for a pound in Primark with my favourite charity shop finds, my Calvin Klein Bomber and Adidas Raincoat.  I'm still in love with my Zara trainers my best friend bought me for my birthday they are so comfortable!

I forgot to blow dry my hair (i washed it at 2am and fell asleep whilst plugging the dryer in. thug life.) so i did this bun thing and added these gold hoops i bought for a 90's night at uni.  I tend to wear the same accessories 24/7, 365 days a year but i think i'll look at building my collection, it's nice to switch things up sometimes!

Oh and yet another addition to my Adidas Shopper collection! White and neon pink this time round! I looked like an Adidas ambassador today!

Camo Pocket Tee - Primark (Mens)
Adidas Shopper - Sports Direct
Zara Coloured Trainers

Calvin Klein Bomber - Charity Shop (Mens)

Adidas Raincoat - Charity Shop

Mini Casio
Spike Cuff - H&M
Neon Socks - Primark

I'm off to continue revising and day dreaming about Summer.  Thanks for reading!

Come say hey, i'm on:

Opposites Attract

Hey guys!

How are you all? Since my last post i've just been busy revising and finishing off all my work for the year.  This weekend i headed back home to London for my uncle's birthday and today took my little sister to see Buckingham Palace and Trafalgar square with my family.  On the Saturday (my uncle's birthday) i realised that i hadn't actually brought anything to wear to it (my packing was terrible, all i can think about are my exams atm) so i borrowed my mum's jacket and worked around that, i'm in the process of begging her for it, fingers crossed!

Blazer - Mum's (Bhs)
Crop Tee - Topshop
Topshop Velvet Seven Eighths Jeans

Lunchbag Clutch - Zara

Velvet Loafers - Topshop

I had no idea what to wear today so i threw on my H&M maxi and this Hawaiian shirt i found in Camden market yesterday whilst showing my flatmates around the City.  I saw a boy put it down and grabbed it!  I love it for some reason, but i'll probably stitch the sleeves up when i get back to uni. I'm thinking of tucking it into high waist black jeans to dress it up a bit more and playing around with how i wear it!

Maxi dress - H&M
Hawaiian shirt - Market stall

I'm still on the hunt for my perfect bag  (this one from & other stories is my fav so far) but in the meantime i switched up my Adidas shopper to this pink and blue version for the Spring time.

Adidas Shopper - Sports Direct
Nike Free Run 2's (Junior)

That's about it for my very different OOTD's of the weekend, i'm off to revise (yet again). Take care!

Work Out

Hello guys!

How are you all?  It's been pretty hectic for me recently with uni exams, assignments, presentations and life plans as well!  If i'm not in the library i'm sat in my room with my teddy's shovelling down Ben & Jerry's and watching Dickinson's Real Deal.  Today however i completed my last group presentation of the year *dances* and my last hand in date is on Monday and then i'm on the home straight with just revision to do for my exams, May 28th couldn't come any sooner!  This evening i headed out to Wagamama with my flatmates to celebrate our hand-ins.   I kept my outfit casual basing it around this Men's Tee i got in Primark for £7.

Tee - Primark (Men's)
Netted Top - H&M
Topshop Velvet Seven-Eighths Jeans

Zara Coloured Trainers
Metallic Clutch - H&M

I hope that revision, essays, assignments etc are going well for you if you're battling with them too, don't give up you can do it!  I'm off to watch Masterchef and get ready for yet another day of essay writing and revision.  Til next time!

Now Playing: Music that warms my soul

So it's currently 1:02 am and i'm sat in bed at uni just thinking about all the incredible music i've heard this week and how much of an impact music has on how i feel.  Music has always played a big part in my life, my dad loves everything from Jazz to Gangsta Rap, i often catch him in the kitchen singing along to Michael Franks, while my mum keeps it more old school hip shaking to High Life or praising to Gospel.  In my younger years my parents bought me a little Fisher Price tape player with microphone included.  I remember sitting in my room remixing nursery rhymes with the gravelly microphone and record button and feeling so proud.  With time my tape player got upgraded to a Walkman which was then replaced by my various music phones when mp3's took over.  Although the formats have changed one thing has remained the same, how the music makes me feel.  From the sheer elation i felt when Aqua released 'Barbie Girl' to the excitement i felt when i saw one of my favourite artists, Kendrick Lamar walk onto stage in Camden last year, that feeling i get in my heart is like no other.  One thing that leaves me in awe of music is how it transcends time, language, race, culture etc and ultimately is about how it makes you feel.  It's a form of expression the listener can relate to whether being the grimiest trap beat or smoothest soul symphony.

Music is there when i feel lonely, sad, happy, motivated, it's like a soundtrack to the movie that is my life.  It holds memories, it can transport me to times in my past both happy and sad.  It has this power that amazes me everyday.  Since i've gotten older i've really learnt to appreciate the craft, the production, the lyricism, the visuals etc.  I've really come to admire what it is that people do to provide us with that four minutes (sometimes longer) of beauty.  Whichever genre you're into, however you listen, whenever you listen it means something to you and you are allowed to have your own opinion and form your own relationship with the music and it's this that's makes it so special for me.

I could write a book on the way music has featured throughout my life and the reasons why i love it but i really felt it on my heart to write this post and leave you with some of the music i've been listening to this week that has really affected me in one way or another:

'Left & Right' by D'Angelo (Moodprint Remix), the production on this is something else:

'Let me' by Atu from the absolutely stunning album 'Pictures On Silence', the Boyz II Men sample left me in tears:

'Dreams' by n u a g e s:

'Unforgettable' by Nat King Cole, just listen to what he is saying, so beautiful and romantic:

'Mary's Song' by Johnny Rain from his mixtape WOUNDEDdrug silentHIGH, i sobbed when i first heard this:

'Summertime' by Evil Needle, this has an old school jazz vibe that reminds me of my parents:

And last but definitely not least Akeda's remix of Kendrick Lamar's, m.A.A.d city, because i didn't think this song could get any hyper, when i first heard it i had to throw my pencil, it. was. that. real.

I'll leave it there because if i include everything i've heard this week this post will never end.  You know what's exciting?

I'm going to discover even more tomorrow.

Barbed Wire

Hey guys!

How are you all?  Quick random snapshot OOTD from me today.   It was quite warm so i reached for my thigh slit maxi but tried to switch it up a bit with mesh detailing and a pop of colour with my Zara trainers.

Mesh Top - H&M
Thigh Split Maxi - Primark
Fishnet Socks - Primark
Zara Coloured Trainers

Crop Top - Primark
Calvin Klein Bomber Jacket - Charity Shop

Quite different to what i'd usually put together but i'm all for trying new things! Wear what you want, dress for yourself, try new things if you want, forget 'rules & regulations' and what other people think. Ain't nobody got time fo' dat.

Strawberry Bubblegum

Hey guys!

Waddup?! It's been absolutely ages since i last blogged! University exams and deadlines have been nearing and consuming my entire life AND THEN on top of it all i broke my laptop by stupidly pouring water on the keyboard *cries* so it has been a stressful few weeks!  I came home for my Easter 'holiday' a week or so ago and luckily was able to get my laptop fixed and finish one essay *dances*  So things have been looking up and i'm back blogging today!

I turned 20 yesterday and spent the daytime eating cake and watching tv (how exciting) but in the evening i headed to Las Iguanas Southbank for a little birthday dinner! I thought i'd share some photos with y'all, my outfit, gifts from my wonderful friends & family and some things i've bought since being back in London.

This year i've been really trying to incorporate more colour into my wardrobe with key pieces. For my birthday dinner i went for this bright red Mango Blazer, Zara bag (which is actually my mum's) and kept it casual with a plain white tee, jeans & gold jewellery.

Blazer - Mango
Tee - H&M
Topshop Leigh Jeans
Brown Suede Brogues - Random shop in Dubai
Bag - Zara

My little sister bought me JT's new album! It's so good!

Happy Hour

My best friend bought me these trainers from Zara, I LOVE the colourway!

I also got a lovely LUSH bath set & MAC Lipstick in Vegas Volt

Since being back home i've bought a few random beauty bits & clothes, so here's a mini 'New In':

Clothes & Accessories
Formal Joggers - Zara (£39.99)
Netted Top - H&M (£9.99)
Vest Top Maxi - H&M (£3)
Metallic Clutch - H&M (£3)

Thanks to all my friends & family for a lovely day! And thanks to all of you guys for reading and commenting while i was away, it means a lot!

Reebok Back

Hello guys!

How are you all?  Today has been another laid back one for me, i've finished my lectures and i'm just waiting for my lunch to be ready so i can chill for a bit and crack on with yet more work.  This morning when i realised it wasn't raining i vowed to wear my Reebok Classics as they hardly get any wear because of my fear of getting them dirty (does anyone else have a mini heart attack when white shoes get dirty?!)  I created my simple outfit around the shoes going for darker colours with my jeans and distressed Ralph Lauren jumper (check out how i did it here) and adding a bit of colour with my dashiki underneath.  I've found since clearing my wardrobe i'm mixing and matching more to create outfits from my smaller selection so i'm trying new things rather than grabbing the same pieces every time.

Ralph Lauren Jumper (DIY-ed) - Charity Shop
Dashiki - Market Stall
Topshop Leigh Skinnies
Reebok Classic Freestyle Hi's - Sports Direct

This jumper has quite a wide neck as it is a massive Men's XXL, i thought it would be interesting to add a layer here around my collar area but didn't want the formal look a collared shirt gave so i threw on my dashiki underneath.  The small pop of colour adds a little colour and detail while still keeping the look laid back and comfortable.

I think i look like a small child here :')

I'm off to make some rice (i'm excited!) Thank you so much for following and reading my blog, your comments and kind words really do make my day!

Come say hey:

Rainy Day

Hey everyone!

How have you all been? Today has been quite chilled for me after quite a hectic but good weekend.  One thing i love about uni are the spontaneous hang-outs with my friends, in the last week we've baked, cooked, had mini dance classes & gone to a kids play place (complete with ball pits, ropes & slides .. i nearly fainted i was so excited!)  Today after my only lecture i headed to The Slug & Lettuce with my friend for lunch, at the moment on Monday's they have a 50% off offer on food which is pretty good!  I was having a lazy day today so i grabbed my favourite tracksuit bottoms and again tried to jazz up the simplicity by mixing textures & materials with the pleather tee and vest version of my knit from 'Basketball'.

Pleather Tee - Matalan
Light Knit Vest - H&M
Joggers - Primark
Textured Coat - ASOS
Converse Hi Tops (Kids) - Office

My phone case arrived about a week ago!  I love it so much, free postage and only £1.99 & i was very pleased with the customer service after the first order went missing, find it here.

Light Lunch

Bracelet - Gogo Philip

Casio Watch - American Apparel

I've been hearing things about GFC going but i'm not too sure if it's true, if you follow my blog through GFC you can also follow here though Bloglovin' just to be safe! You can also follow me on Twitter & Tumblr too! Thanks a bunch and a billion.  I'm off to do some Marketing revision and blast the Kendrick & Jay-Z remix of 'Don't Kill My Vibe'. Peace out.
